God’s Patience

How can we ever match God’s patience?

It is hard to fathom the thought of having patience in this day and age, with everything being so readily available, from food to information, you name it. Even Amazon now has same-day delivery. Tie that in with the ease of social media connections,  good or bad.  They are all available at the press of your screen. We yearn for immediate satisfaction. It gives us a sense of fulfillment to have things provided in the moment. Therefore it is so hard for us to understand what it is to be patient.

God tells us to ask ye shall receive, but at the same time, He also tells us that He will provide accordingly. We may all want to have things. But be mindful that the things you ask for are not things you need to have in our lives at that moment. Our possession may be a distraction and can be a burden. He knows us better than we know ourselves. As a parent, you would not give your child a toy that would take his attention away from his school work or chores. You are mindful of these things.

As we grow older, we have the capability of attaining these things for ourselves. As a result, we struggle with more than just the material. We lose patience with each other. We all have our own lives to live. Dealing with each other takes a lot more than wanting our package to arrive the next day. You do not have to go too far to see where the effect begins. It starts at home. This is the area where we must always practice patience. If we do not have patience for the ones we love the most. How can we be patient with everything else we do in our lives?

Part of patience is forgiveness. We can not have peace in our hearts if we carry the burden of resentment within us. Be mindful of your own heart. Be mindful of your thoughts. Do not be quick to label those around you or the situations because this will affect how you see them. Always have Love present in your heart. And always put God in the forefront. Let Him be your guiding light. We all must have a true point of reference because society changes but only He stays the same. Always and forever.
