Time Out for Reflecting

At the end of the day, how much time do you set aside to reflect on the events of the day?

In Romas12:2 The Apostle Paul tells us; “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Each day we are accountable for our actions and our thoughts. Doing so not only helps us to align ourselves with God’s will, but it helps us improve our overall relationship with everyone around us. To start off, make it a point to set aside two to five minutes to do so. Think about that frustrating moment you had when the program at work just took forever to load because the network was slow. Or how you were running a few minutes behind schedule and became frustrated at the driver in front of you for driving two miles below the speed limit.

How do these situations affect your outlook on the rest of your day?

How does it affect your interaction with those around you?

Take measure of these items through out your day. Reflecting on these at the end of your day allows you to be more present in the moment. Gradually, increase your time of reflection. But be mindful that this is to be done to see God’s will work through you. You may stumble as we all do, but stick to it. Do not allow shame to creep in at the fact that you stumbled. In Romans 10:11 Paul states; “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” Everything we do is to be done in FAITH. He will never turn His face away from you. So don’t turn your face away from him.
